HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

Computer Hardware:
The center has established major computational resources involving
  • DEC Alpha servers
  • IRIX 6.5 servers on SGI Workstations
  • Intel LINUX Workstations
  • Windows NT servers
  • CD/DVD server
  • About 120 IBM and MAC PCs spread over the LAN
The LAN is linked to the Internet through a 2 Mbps leased line provided by VSNL.

BIC, NII is also connected to other DICs as well as INTERNET through DBT-VPN network.
